Grinderman Returns

Nick Cave is a guy that just keeps going. For diehard fans like myself, I'm pleased to hear that the Bad Seeds ringleader has gathered his Grinderman mates -- Warren Ellis, Jim Sclavunos and Martyn Casey -- for a second album. Grinderman 2 kicks off with first single "Heathen Child," featuring Robert Fripp, on August 31st, with the nine-song set following September 14th via Anti-.

There are four pretty interesting *and* entertaining trailers coinciding the album's release floating around the blogosphere. Aussie-bred director John Hillcoat, one of Cave's longtime friends and collaborators, is at the helm of these mini-clips and his previous work speaks for itself, having done videos for Manic Street Preachers, Depeche Mode, Therapy? and the Bad Seeds' own "Babe I'm On Fire". My favorite is featured below, but there's more via the Mute Channel at YouTube.

Spinner has also reported that Hillcoat and Cave are working on a made-for-TV adaptation for Cave's latest novel, The Death of Bunny Munro. Cave and Hillcoat previously teamed up for 2005's outlaw film, The Proposition, which Cave penned the screenplay and Hillcoat directed.

Grinderman 2 tracklisting:
1. Mickey Mouse and the Goodbye Man
2. Worm Tamer
3. Heathen Child
4. When My Baby Comes
5. What I Know
6. Evil
7. Kitchenette
8. Palaces of Montezuma
9. Bellringer Blues
