The Loudest Band in New York?
Dear God, A Place to Bury Strangers have ripped my heart out. The New York City foursome create a maddening rock mix that should reel in Interpol and Joy Division enthusiasts while building on the moodier threads of classic shoegazing (My Bloody Valentine of course). Don't mistake the electronic shudders of "To Fix the Gash In Your Head" and the glassy layers of "Missing You" as just another stylish psych rock trip à la Serena Maneesh and 120 Days. A Place to Bury Strangers makes indie rock dark again, and thank goodness for that!
